JBF is run by Mom, Dad, Grandparent & other helpers just like you. Each 4-Hr shift you work supports our Earth-friendly ecosystem of buying and selling gently used.  Help families beat our high cost of living, and it's important work giving back your time to community, family-centered events. Volunteer with your middle-schooler or up.

JBF Helper Perks:

  • Work 1 shift onsite = 65%
  • Work 2 shifts onsite = 70%
  • Work 3+ shifts onsite = 70% + shop even earlier
  • Work as a Team Leader = 75- 80% & shop VERY, VERY FIRST!!
  • Double-credit shifts during set up and breakdown are 4/hrs, but you earn 8/hrs of credit toward shopping earlier at Thursday's Presale (can't be applied toward 70%; to earn 70% both shifts must be worked onsite)

JBF Helper Info:

•  Shifts are available in 4-hour increments Wednesday - Sunday (8am-10pm). 
•  The more shifts you complete, the earlier you get to shop all the bargains.
•  Get a parking pass (no pass needed Wed, Thurs, or Sunday after 2pm).
•  JBF Helper tasks include inspecting merchandise, helping shoppers, cashiering, organizing the floor and post-event sorting and breaking down.
•  Please find childcare and refrain bringing your children with you, for safety purposes.  We have other tasks for Moms with newborns (email HERE for more info).
•  Dress comfortably (wear tennis shoes). We will have drinks for you & light snacks. You can leave your personal belongings in the car/home.

Mid-Sale Dropoff: Friday  9/27| 6:00 - 7:00pm
We accept additional items Friday evening (all items accept clothing). 

DROP OFF:
1. 
Drive in thru Gate 8 onto Event Center grounds.
2.  Bring one small tagged item to the check-in desk in Redwood Hall (leave the rest in your car).  
3.  Turn in Consignor Waiver.
4.  Pick up Presale Passes!
5.  After check in, return to your car and bring the rest in.

What to expect:
Charts HERE show which items go in which building.  Organize your items in these categories to make drop-off faster.  Organize your clothing into gender first, then by size.
Plan for 30-60 minutes for drop-off.

DONATE:
•  If you designated your items to be donated during the tagging process, your unsold items will automatically be loaded onto the donation truck.  Your sales report will provide a donation total for your taxes.

•  If you planned to pick up, but change your mind and wish to donate, text me at 408-806-6779 with your Consignor Number and the word DONATE please.

PICK UP:
1.
  Drive in thru Gate 8 onto Event Center grounds
2.  Please bring your ID with you to pick up your items.  You may designate someone else to pick up your items by listing their name on your consignor waiver; they also must bring their ID.  We will not release items without proper identification.
3.  You will be through the pick up areas. Your items will already be sorted and grouped together by your consignor number.  Your escort can help you double-check your items at that time.
4.  Sign & turn in your form and you are done!

What to expect:
•  Drive in thru Gate 8.  Check in a the front desk. Have your ID with you
•  PICK UP TIMES ARE FIRM. Items left at the sale after 9:01p will be loaded onto donation trucks. Sorry, no exceptions as we must clear building ASAP and do not have the capability to take any items home.
•  ONLY DONATION TEXTS will be confirmed. Please do not call, text, or reach out to us on social media during this time as we are concentrating on breakdown and pick up and most likely won't see your message until LATE that night. Email is always best during the event.
•  ITEM RECONSILIATION will be completed after the event.  There are many reasons an item could have sold and may not be showing up on your sales report. Missing items are almost always either a manually entered tag (which do not show up online but do reflect in your check) or was mis-sorted. If you notice something missing, you can write a note on your consignor waiver.
•  OUR BREAKDOWN STAFF IS WONDERFUL.  We work diligently to ensure the most accurate sorting  possible.  Please note that JBF is not responsible for missing items.  Please be attentive when you are escorted thru the "missing tags" area, and double-checking items.

Bags & Baby Carriers

Bags & Baby Carriers
Diaper bags, infant carriers, backpacks, and purses are great consignment items. Please inspect all items carefully to make sure items have not been recalled (link), or are stained, damaged or missing pieces.  We no longer accept breast pumps.

Package:  Please zip-tie items to an adult-size hanger.  Those get placed on the endcaps of the clothing isles.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Hole-punch JBF tag and attach it to item with ribbon or string. If item contains multiple pieces, be sure all pieces are included and list number of items on JBF tag description. (link to tagging video multiple pieces)

Bedding, Blankets & Textiles

Bedding, Blankets & Textiles
Bedding sizes accepted are bassinet through twin only. Please be selective when selling bedding, blankets, receiving blankets, burp cloths, and towels. New and barely used items sell best. Check carefully for stains; shoppers get very disappointed if they find a stain in a bundled blanket once they get home.

Package:  Put bedding/crib/bedroom sets together in original packaging or in giant clear plastic bags. Arrange bedding sets inside bag so that shoppers can see all of the items as well as the design/pattern (include a photo from the internet of bedding set up). Secure the bag so that items do not get separated. Blankets, cloths, and towels can be tied with ribbon/string like a package (be sure multiple pieces cannot be separated).

Price:  Price to sell!  Shoppers are less likely to purchase these items used, so prices have to be low. Try to price 75% - 90% off retail.  

Tag:  If bedding is in a plastic bag, attach tag securely with packaging tape to the inside of the bag and tape the bag shut (bedding set prices vary widely and securing tags inside bags prevents tag switching). If bedding/blankets are bundled with string, hole-punch JBF tag and knot onto tied sets (can place a piece of clear tape on top of tag and punch hole thru to reinforce tag).  (link to tagging video)

Books, Games, DVDs, Arts & Crafts

Books, Games, DVDs, Arts & Crafts
Books, book sets, board games, puzzles, video games, video game systems, scrapbook, arts & crafts sets are great items for resale.  Please only bring kids’, parenting, homeschooling, pregnancy and child rearing books.  Games and puzzles must have all pieces.  (No "adult" content please.)  Check items to ensure they are in great condition.

Package:  Use clear, self-seal bags or clear cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold multiple items of different sizes together; Tie sets of books the same size together with ribbon/string like a package.  Be sure that parts/games to video game systems (such as Vtech) cannot be separated or switched out at the sale.

Price:  Prices can range from $.50 to $50 in this category, depending on the item. Price to sell especially for books & DVDs as there are always lots to choose from at the sale. Make sets to keep at least a $3.00 minimum price.

Tag:  Attach your tag using either washi or painters' tape to it's easily removed without damage when removing the tag. Please do not use masking or double sided tape.  Hole-punch JBF tag and knot onto tied sets (can place a piece of clear tape on top of tag and punch hole thru to reinforce tag). Car Seats & Cribs

Car Seats
Car seats cannot be older than 5 years. Check and make sure your car seat has never been recalled. Click here for recalls or call the Department of Transportation for recalls at 1-800-424-9393.  To consign a car seat, you must fill out and bring TWO copies of the Car Seat Waiver. This must be filled out completely. If you do not have the manual for your car seat, in most cases, you can download those and print them online. Please bring this Car Seat Waiver checklist with you to Consignor drop off (one copy stays with your waiver, one is attached to the car seat on the sales floor).

Cribs
Per CPSC guidelines, JBF can only accept the consignment of cribs manufactured on or after June 28, 2011.  Cribs manufactured from July 23, 2010 to June 28, 2011 may be consigned if the consignor provides a certificate of compliance from the crib manufacturer or retailer.  Cribs manufactured prior to July 23, 2010 will not be accepted under any circumstance.  Cribs that are unacceptable, for any reason, cannot be sold as toddler beds.  To consign a crib, you must fill out and bring TWO copies of the Crib Waiver. .  Please bring this Car Seat Waiver checklist with you to Consignor drop off (one copy stays with your waiver, one is attached to the crib on the sales floor).  (link to tagging video w/ multiple pieces)

Clothing

Clothing
We sell children's clothing Newborn through juniors (limit 10 girl's junior size items, Abercrombie, Hollister, Roxy, American Eagle, Nike, Volcom, Burton preferred) as well as maternity sizes (limit 10 brand name maternity clothing items per consignor). Our Fall Sale is fall & winter clothing only (what your child would wear between October-March). Be picky. Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them. No stained or damaged items will be accepted.  Any items not in the current trend will be rejected at inspection. Please freshly clean your clothing items. Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads. Please button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing. The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell.

Package & Hang:  Hangers - Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark).  Hang size 0-6 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 7-juniors and maternity clothing on adult-size hangers. Clothing that falls off the hanger onto the floor will get overlooked.  Clothing Sets - Sets tend to sell better (under size 6) so match things up if you can. Safety pin or use a tagging gun to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.  Pants/Shorts - Pant-clip hangers are great but if you use a standard hanger, simply use your tagging gun to attach pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide. Bundle onesies and pin together at the shoulders to be easily viewed by shoppers.  Socks, tights, hats and infant mittens need to be in a clear zip-lock bag (group multiple items in one bag). Please be sure to label your tag well listing all items.

Price:  Hanging Clothing - Put outfits/set together to price for at least $3.00; Start at $3 for basic, generic brand 0-24mo outfit. Add $1 each for larger size, name brand, formal, and heavy/winter.  Non-hanging Clothing - Put sets together to price for at least $3.00, but okay to price for less (i.e., 6 pair of socks for $1.50).

Tag:  Clothing on Hangers - Attach tag with a tagging gun to inside label or seam NOT through part of the clothing (it will make a hole/tear in clothing), or use a safety pin thru upper right front. Also, pull on the tag to make sure it is properly secured and will not come off easily. Please make sure consignor tags are pulled out of the clothing so they are easily visible to the customers.
Non-Hanging Clothing - Bundles of socks, tights, infant mittens, and accessories in plastic bags should be secured closed with clear tape with tag either taped onto or placed inside bag (if you are sure it can be scanned). Please use tagging gun or safety pins to attach tags to tied/taped bundles of accessories. (link to tagging video)

Furniture & Equipment

Furniture & Equipment
Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, cribs (Manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011; please bring Crib Waiver (link) for all cribs), strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, car seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls (link), must have all parts, and be in good condition. Children's furniture - beds (toddler, twin), desks, side tables, dressers, etc.  Household furniture - please see Mommy Mart information below.

Package:  If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, zip-ties, or string to keep items attached together. If wooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item. All furniture and equipment must be assembled during the sale. Batteries must be included, if applicable. Please bring a Car Seat Checklist (link) for all car seats, booster seats, and car seat base or infant carrier.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Infant Items

Infant Items
Nursing covers & pillows, feeding items, monitors, safety items, diapering & toileting items, rattles, and more. Please check for safety recalls (link) on all items that you consign.

Package:  If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, tagging gun, safety pins or clear self-seal bags to keep items attached together and clearly visible to shoppers. Batteries must be included, if applicable.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item or clear self-seal bag with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item. (link to tagging video coming)

Shoes

Shoes
Make sure that shoes are clean, clean, clean! We will be VERY selective with shoes during Consignor Drop Off & Inspection. Shoes must be current season (Fall = October thru March; Spring = April thru October).

Package: Fasten shoes together with zip ties. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear zip-lock bag. We prefer no shoe boxes. However, if shoes are in the box, please remove the lid, secure it to the bottom of the box, and secure the shoes to the box (closed boxes do not sell well).

Price: Shoes must be in good condition and should start at $3.00 for infant/toddler; Add $1 each for larger size, name brand, or heavy/winter.

Tag: Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with the ribbon, string, or zip tie. For infant shoes in a clear zip-lock bag, put the tag inside the bag and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. (link to tagging video coming)

Toys

Toys
Ride-on toys, block sets, dolls, remote control cars, outdoor toys, learning toys, and more. All toys must be checked for safety recalls (link) before consigning.  Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores).

Package:  Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in ziplocks and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

Price:  Price 50% - 90% off retail.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item. (link to tagging video coming soon)

Unaccepted Items

Please check this list before tagging and dropping off your items.  We will NOT accept:

Breast pumps
VHS tapes
Stuffed animals (unless Disney or other licensed character)
Crib Mattresses, or any mattresses
Stained, worn, torn items
Recalled items
Adult clothing
Used under garments

Our Valet Tagging service gives families a way to participate if they are unable to tag their own items.  Experienced JBF Moms successfully tag for others!
**NOTE:  We are not able to clean, dust, or wipe down your items; this is a tagging service for clean, gently used items.

  • Earn 40% of your sales (or 50% if you help onsite at the sale)
  • Simply prepare all your items (removing any stained/torn clothing, wiping down all toys/books/outdoor items/baby gear).
  • Deliver your items to your Tagger, and that's it!
  • Shop the Presales on Thursday evening & 50% off Saturday afternoon.
  • All valet items will be marked reduce to half off and to donate.

INSPECTION GUIDELINES

YOU GET TO SKIP INSPECTION!   Yep, our returning consignors (AKA Perfect Consignors) have a proven track record of delivering quality items to the sale. They just check in and then put their items away!

DOES ANYONE GET INSPECTED?  YES, Inspection happens after drop-off.
We try to keep out standards high so shoppers love us and you earn the most CA$H possible.
•  First-time consignors will have their items inspected to better understand the process on their first run.
•  Consignors who have more than three items pulled during a sale (for stains, holes, damage, recalled) will need to go thru inspection at the next sale they participate in.
• Inspection of all items happens before the Presale.

INSPECTION: What are we looking for?

  • No stains, holes, tears, dirty, broken/missing buttons or zippers, items too worn, faded, not gently-used, or simply not clean enough.
  • Small hangers for infant - 6T.
  • Only JBF barcodes printed on white cardstock (no hand-written tags).
  • Hangers facing a 'question mark' direction.

DURING DROP OFF:

  • Check in (bring 1 item with you, leave the rest in your car)
  • Pick up your Presale shopping pass
  • Put your items out on floor
  • New consignors are required to go thru an initial inspection 
  • This process usually takes approximately an hour
